I too decided to have radiation closer to home. I thought all radiation was the same. It is not. Some of the newer radiation equipment is much better at pinpointing target. Some radiologist are better than others. I had asked about
having treatment in Cleveland (1 1/2 hr each way), where I had everything else related to PCa done. They said they had newest machine being installed as we spoke. Erie radiation center said it was not a big deal. Due to upcoming winter weather in 2011 I chose Erie. No serious side effects, but do wish I had gone with the newer, and supposedly more accurate machine. Might have gotten rid of the beast.
That is not to say the radiation at home is any better or worse. Only to ask questions and get answers. Might even be better at home.
