Bubba you know full well if SELECT had come out in your favor you'd be dancing in the streets - it didn't so you look for any speck of info to delegitimize it. We've been down this road before. No vitamin, no supplement, no witches brew of hemp oil, apricot seeds, and hydrogen peroxide, mixed with vitamin E, does a thing to help prostate, or any other, cancer - but it can, and does, hurt people. Vitamin scammers sell billions of dollars worth of junk every single year to desperate people. The FDA should drive them out of business.
Buddy, no offense! But, that seems a little extreme or maybe overstated. I'm not sure how you can say with such certainty- what level of proof you have available to you- to be able to say " No vitamin, no supplement.......does a thing to help prostate, or any other, cancer - but it can, and does, hurt people". Again, maybe it is just me, but that seems a bit of a stretch to me.
Do you recall previous RCTs I had posted on supplementation of vitamin D vs breast cancer, where there were very significant benefits for those supplemented, and the higher the blood levels, the better they did? In fact, the very highest levels did significantly better than the simply well above average levels. And, on a personal level, I suspect there might be something to all of that since my niece's cancer doctor(she was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer 8 years ago) has had her on 10,000 IUs/day of vitamin D for some years. Perhaps coincidentally, it certainly does not appear to have hurt her any.
Now I'm not ready to yet claim there is indisputable proof that some vitamins might be helpful with some cancers, but it does seem to me there is enough evidence to show your claim as a bit of a stretch. Of course, I could be wrong and you might be right. Your thoughts?
