They only asked for $2 million. And they could have gotten $0.
...appropriation bills have maintained $13.2M in funding for CDC prostate cancer activities for the last four years. ZERO advocated for Congress to include an additional $2M for the CDC’s National Cancer Control Program (NCCCP). The NCCCP funding will support education and outreach to African American men, and men who are at high risk for prostate cancer.
Just to clarify, $2M was the requested increase
to the $13.2M which had been appropriated every year for the past four years. Granted, $14M still isn't a lot in Washington terms, but the increase is targeted for high risk education
... possibly to make up for the whole USPSTF snafu that left many "uneducated" men (like me) with high risk PCa.
