Recently on the current thread "No Subject (Part 5)," which might as well now be entitled the Never Ending Thread, we actually did launch into a discussion of something, rather than nothing (sorry about
that), namely, beer, as in which one(s) are the best.
I added my own two cents, even going so far as to cite my son's website rating of beers that he and I have sampled, and thought that would be the end of it
Well, now I get an email from a fellow forum poster here, who said he had seen and appreciated the beer rating on my son's website, and maintained to me that such an important topic as beer rating should get a much wider audience, as it is something, and not be left on the Nothing Thread. He then suggested that perhaps I could see to starting a Friday fun thread this morning, since he had noted that I do tend to start Friday fun threads on occasion, and suggested that I do so on this so very important topic
So, seeing that it just happens to be Friday, I figured, why not?
So feel free to enter in a post below your own candidate for Beer Number One, along with your convincing argument as to why. You forum members who have already stated your preferences on the Nothing thread are certainly welcome to re-state them here, thereby turning them into something.
Incidentally, here is an edited version of the post I made over there regarding son Jeff's and my beer rating, which praises Hacker-Schorr Weisse as the best, and which I will therefore submit as my own entry:"My older son Jeff (the computer programmer one) has had beer tasting and rating as a hobby for some time now. In fact, on his personal website he has even set up a section ("Beers Rated") where he lists and rates the beers he and I have sampled, along with personal commentary about each of them.
(and page down to "Beers Rated").
(BTW, if anyone's interested, and I can't imagine why anyone would be, that photo of Jeff at the top of his first website page looks exactly like I did at that age, even to including the beardwork. Sometimes dads and sons look remarkably alike, and that's us. So age-progress that photo of Jeff by about 30 years, and that's me today. Again, only if you're interested!).
(Whoa! You may have to copy-and-paste, along with dropping the "http://" part, then search, his website address, as it doesn't seem to want to link)"
