Last Wednesday, I made an idiotic move, by pulling over my truck, to look for something in the back seat. I left the engine running, thought it was in park, even pulled the emergency brake. I was in a safe area, no traffic at all at 0530, in a rural area.Unfortunately, the gear was in neutral not park, and the truck started a slow roll.
I stepped out and was immediately sent to the ground. I looked up at the rear wheel and sprung back up. Bad move, as I felt a sharp pain in my hamstring. The truck nudged the curb and stopped, but the damage was done. I was able to drive 2 miles back home and limped into bed with intense pain. After visiting Urgent care, they confirmed a severely pulled hamstring.
I post this because it has never been so clear to me that we never know what might happen every day. It could have been a lot worse. My immune system is challenged, my bones are probably weakened by the drugs I take for PC, so a broken bone might have been catastrophic. But I was fortunate, I survived.
Personally, even with advanced PC, I feel blessed beyond measure. I have a family that loves me, a brother that I pray will come through his aortic valve replacement on Wednesday, and all of you here on Healing Well, that I pray will overcome our very annoying 'ailment'. Let's beat this PC and Corona Virus. Be careful out there. Be strong.
Thanks again for your off topic post , Alephnull.
