Hello and happy new year to all. I do not post much, 2020 was not very kind ( non PCa related). I still search the forums, and enjoy reading all the latest news. While doing so, I came across some sad news on another forum. Some of the guys who have been around for awhile will remember Fairwind. He has been a regular contributor to this forum, and the prior one I was on before it closed last year. He is not doing well, with a psa around 5000, and in his words "feeling like it's time to fold the tent". I just wanted to recognize him and thank him for all he did to make the forums a great place since I arrived. His knowledge and wisdom, along with his technical expertise, made him one of my favorites. Add in the fact that he was always willing to help out others....it is guys like him who restored my faith in people. Please keep him in your prayers....regards, MM

This is sad news indeed. I remember that he was pretty far along on the list of treatment options, and things had not been going his way when i last saw him post. I hope for a miracle that turns things around. Good guy, always very supportive.
Fairwind, if you log on and see this, know we are thinking of you.

‘You get braver as your options dwindle...”.

The famous quote from Fairwind, who has demonstrated bravery throughout his pursuit utilizing most every option imaginable.

Our brother F8 uses Fairwind’s quote as his signature.

I am so sorry to hear that he is not doing well. I always like hearing from him and although I have never met him personally his words are always comforting to others. For many of us this journey will take us in one direction. It may take some of us longer than others but were still headed in one direction. One way or another. It reminds me that we must cherish the time we have and make the effort to strengthen the relationships in our lives.

Add me to the list of those praying for both the best, and a smooth journey, for Fairwind. You are a breath of fresh air around here. I trust there are more good options in your future. May the wind stay on your back, hang tough.

Sorry to hear about Fairwind... I remember his post also. Always rough to hear about guys who have been around here helping others deal with their own PCa journeys. I also wish him a smooth journey. Take care friend. -JR

Fairwind, you have always been such an important part of this site for me.

I remember back in 2010 you had your surgery around the time my husband had his in August.
I recall that your post op PSAs were not the best but you taught me lessons in how to roll with the punches. And I have made it a point to seek out your posts over the last 10 years.

Fairwind, I am sorry to hear of your PSA of 5000 and your current status. Thinking of you and hoping that you are not in any discomfort. Thank you again Fairwind.

Sorry to hear of this! Fairwind, if you check in, know you're in my thoughts and prayers. This disease can be a relentless foe, and inspiring guys like Fairwind are strong and dedicated fighters.

I've always enjoyed interacting with him. I believe he was one of the earliest to greet me here in 2013. As a fellow G9 case, we trade a lot of notes about aggressive treatments. He had one core with G9, and opted for surgery initially. Many subsequent treatments came later on.

For the record, Fairwind's entry is at the bottom of the first page in this thread: The Gleason 9 Crew - Welcome and how ya doin'?. (Our long-standing G9 Crew thread I began a long time ago as a gathering place for those of us with this diagnosis to meet and chat about the specific concerns. G9 discussions trend more toward survival than minimizing sexual impacts.)

He always was very supportive to all, including myself.
Fairwind, may you have fair winds at your back.
Peace brother, may the good Lord be with you always.
