This is somewhat off topic. Actually a great deal off topic. But thought someone may have had some experience. Got my 1st Moderna Vaccine today. about 8:40 this morning. What concerns me is I had no side effects. I figured by this time I would be a world of hurt.
Has anyone else got the vaccine with no side effects?
Thanks,
Mr Bill

I haven't had the vaccine, but I'm thinking possible side-effects may need some more time.

Some of my friends have had both shots of the similar Pfizer vaccine. First shot was no problem. The second shot made all of them sick for 24-36 hours.

They are all glad they did it.

It all depends on your individual response. Do you usually have issues with vaccines? My daughter, a RN, got her first dose just before christmas, and was low grade feverish for 2 days. 2nd dose, no issues. That being said, she ALWAYS had vaccine reactions, all the way back to childhood.

Me, I usually feel a little 'off' after the annual flu shot. I expect the same. Shingrix kicked my butt.

First shot (Moderna) 2 weeks ago and the only side effect was a very sore arm at the injection site for about 2 days.

Woke up this morning with sore arm at injection site. I just know I will not be able to take garbage out or go pick up groceries curbside, or shovel some of 2 ft of snow we have.
I do appreciate the replies.

Bill, no cause for concern IMO.
I had no side effects after the first shot, other than soreness at injection same for all of my friends with one exception - a guy who had COVID about 10 months ago, and still has a high level of antibodies (he gets tested and gives plasma regularly)
My wife, strangely, had no symptoms other than soreness at injection site, but strangely, 9 days after the shot developed a large red patch at injection site, warm to the touch and raised, sort of like a welt. It’s getting better but was weird.
Can’t wait for the second shot but anticipating more pronounced side effects

But for your situation, I’m sure no worries, be happy you haven’t had side effects

Yes, me too, Moderna, a week ago. Expect a little more reaction with the second shot.

Not to worry Bill, it's all goiod.

Son-in-Law, mom and husband have all had the first dose (son-in-law has also had the 2nd). Nobody had side effects from the first dose. Son-in-law felt crappy and had a low grade fever for about 10 hours after the second.

My wife and I both had the first Moderna shot two weeks ago. Only side effect for both of us were slightly sore arms the next day.

And, as long as we are a bit off topic...I have a friend who had COVID a few months back, is loaded with antibodies and not too worried about getting the vaccine. His girl friend, however, is very concerned about getting immunized. He keeps telling her that she can receive immunity from him via sexual injections. Do you think she will buy it?

I react poorly every 6 months with my Lupron shot. Hoping the vaccine is only 1/2 as bad.

Vaccine Vacations to Florida may have just come to a quick halt. Reported last night:

<<<After complaints from residents frustrated that out-of-state and out-of-country visitors are getting the COVID-19 vaccine while they can't, Florida has restricted the distribution to residents only. Up to now, 33% of all vaccinations have gone to non residents of Florida.>>>

I'm glad they consider snowbirds residents. And rightfully so IMO. Most of us are homeowners and pay taxes down here. Of course, i am biased, but i do believe it logically..
People coming here from other countries though, thats not good

"The number of people overdue for second doses reached 44,470 Monday, according to the daily vaccine reports issued by the Florida Department of Health. But after that day, and after news media reports publicized the high number of people overdue for second shots, the health department started omitting that statistic from its daily reports."

Having an appointment for a second shot is one thing, actually getting it is something else. Didn't Jerry Seinfeld have an episode or two about the difference? ;-)

The wife and I got shot #1 at 10:45am (eastern) this morning - - Moderna.

I tip my hat to the Ocean County, NJ Department of Health; truly, they are World Class Professionals. Since this was a "geezers" day, they had Sinatra, Dean Martin and other-such music playing to help soothe anxieties.

So far, so good!

We just got our appointment for the second shot -- Feb 3 -- exactly 4 weeks after Shot #1. Supposedly our County has held back vaccine for these second doses. We will sure see.

The news reports about the 44,000 overdue for second shot seemed to say, that it appears most of those are people who decided to not show up for the second shot, perhaps because of side effects from the first.

I dont have much confidence in the Florida Dept of Health numbers, lack of transparency

Good luck, Jim, I'm hoping the same for our appointment on Feb 6th. My shot is administered by and at a hospital, so i'm hopeful that theyve stored the second doses in enough quantity.

My wife and I both got Moderna #1 two hrs ago.

She's the one with some allergies: had no reaction.

I'm the one with no allergies: felt a little weird for about half an hour and dot's eet.

Can't wait for #2.
