I've been a long time HW member, but from the Crohn's forum. I noticed the Prostate Cancer forum after checking some of the other support forums available.
I don't have Prostate cancer that I'm aware of. I am almost 62 years of age, and having some symptoms that have made me wonder if I should be getting checked out. I know some of this might be just age related, but looking for some imput from those here that have obviously been through the whole progression.
First off, I'm very typically not able to get through the night without getting up to urinate at least once. Also, my urine stream isn't as strong as it used to be, but no pain or discomfort. Don't have to strain to urinate. My flow is often intermittent. It will stop, then dribble for awhile before back to a light stream.
I don't have any pain, other than the occasional feeling of having to urinate, even though I've gone recently.
My question is, considering where I'm at, should I be getting checked out?
you should be getting annual PSA tests and DREs. the "symptoms" you describe could be normal for your age.
