I remember getting a series of medical treatments wrapped up, just before Thanksgiving and Christmas rolled around.
It was nice to have treatments finished up, before winter rolled around.
I think it's beneficial --- and EMPOWERING --- to begin looking ahead to things that you will enjoy AFTER your treatments are wrapped up. This strategy worked for me!
With my series of chemotherapy treatments --- I was looking forward to Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays with my family, knowing my treatments would be done by then.
When I knocked out the 45 radiation treatments, SUMMER was just around the corner. I started actively thinking ahead to things I wanted to do when summer rolled around ...
These goals REALLY helped me set my sights on getting treatments wrapped up, crossing the finish line, ringing that bell at the oncology center on the last day of treatments, and starting to MAKE PLANS for enjoyable things I wanted to do, once my treatments were finished.
Those forward-looking thoughts and goals can be very POWERFUL --- and carry a fellow through a series of treatments! These thoughts can carry a fellow through a ROUGH DAY during treatments, too!
