As many of you know, PCRI.ORG hosts a large annual PC conference with many notable speakers. I've been to 3 of them and they are excellent, with many world-class experts featured. Dr. Scholz and Mark Moyad are the main hosts. This year's conference is virtual, today and Sunday. Go to their site, if interested. It's free.

So I just finished watching Moyad's opening remarks, which are always informative and enjoyable.

It is interesting that he mentioned supplements. He pointed out that we once surmised that vit. E and Selenium would be helpful vs. PC. Eventually that was totally debunked (I think by the SELECT TRIAL). He then went on to say that Vit C and Zinc has so far not outperformed placebos (based on initial results from a major study by the Clevelend Clinic) for COVID tx/prevention. Of course, we have folks using a truckload of words praising the virtues of such nostrums. They may indeed be correct, as per Dr. Moyad there are only preliminary results and the CC study is ongoing.

I think the issue is complex, but as I read those who tout alternative treatments for Covid, they all really say one thing: the vaccines are incidental to avoiding serious illness or death from Covid--"take the vaccine if you must"--but their words directly and indirectly point to their belief that the 'real' big guns against Covid are alternative treatments--name your favorites. Until we have solid evidence that anything besides vaccines, for which we have scientific proof that they work, we should all get the jab. I believe in mandates at this point, because the unvaccinated are a threat to everyone's health, including our unvaccinated children under age 12

Most of those who tout alternative approaches to the Covid virus (assuming they believe that the virus is real) are like a horse with blinders, and see a very narrow section of the whole picture. A horse without blinders, to continue the analogy, is the scientist who sees the whole picture and is able to assemble from that the best--not the perfect--solution to a pandemic that has killed 4.5 million people, to say nothing of the countless millions who have suffered from this virus. A horse's vision is nearly 360 except for a small blind spot in front of their nose and behind their tail. With blinders the visual field is cut to 30 degrees.

To use Dr. Fauci as a representive the thousands of expert scientists who have weighed in on this virus, his vision I believe encompasses more of the big picture. That is where I have placed my bets.

My apologies to horses, who have no skin in the Covid vaccination game.

there was an irrational response to seat belts and helmets, and this is no different. when someone starts out by saying: "though i am vaccinated.......". they have nothing to say that i want to hear..

I realize that I am convincing no one who is not already convinced. I'm pissing into the wind. I suppose it helps to get it off my chest, since I'm PO'd at the irrational, unreasonable, " I woke up free today and nobody's gonna
force me to put an unproven vaccine into my body" attitudes of the vaccine refusers.
