That is a very forceful statement; let's hope it will turn out to be correct in the long run.

I had to look him up. Guess I'm not much of a WWE buff. 🙂 I hope he's cancer free, but I wonder how his doctors know?

So no need for any more PSA tests--right!

I agree, prostate cancer is cured when there is not any need of psa tests anymore or when the patient dies of something else. My guess is that most or all cases belong to the second group.

I wish him the absolute best!
Umm,
But cancer free?
His surgery was just performed in October.
Don't most doctors say you have to go like 5 years without treatment to be considered cured?
It's kind of hard to believe that he's not on some sort of ADT.
Maybe the doc said, we see no signs of disease and he misinterpreted that.

I really hope he is cancer free!

i've noticed that people who are less obsessive about their cancer than, say, your average regular on this forum are more likely to say they are "cured" early on.

when you ask them about details like gleason score or positive biopsy cores they draw a blank. they say they are cured because that's what their doctor tells them.

even now i don't consider myself cured. i am in remission

It reminds me of when my surgeon told me two weeks after my RP that I was his “star patient” and he had rid me of my Gleason 9 cancer. When my wife and I asked him whether we should wait to celebrate after my first PSA he waved us off and said we had nothing to worry about and that we were the couple that “always sees the glass half-empty.” Well, my first PSA came back detectable a couple of months later. That’s the last time I saw that doctor…
