A recognition day that a lot of us may or may not have been aware of, but one that is certainly worthy of our attention.

The nurses who look after me at each clinic appointment are outstanding.

I always share a few sincere words of gratitude, thanking them for all the ways in which they go the extra mile, to look after me.

In my case, the oncologist nurses administer my monthly ZOLADEX shot --- and were there every step of the way during chemotherapy infusions. One nurse helped save my life when I went into a severe allergic reaction during a chemotherapy infusion.

I see my oncologist every month, so a trusted rapport with my care nurses is there ...

My interactions have almost always been better than with doctors. Good and essential health care pros.

I have a favorite nurse. She also happens to be my daughter.
