Hey Folks!

Just got in from a day at the hospital. I have met with the doctor and I am opting for surgery. I really had my mind made up befroe I wnet. I feel really good about the surgeon. He just performed a prostatectomy on Weds. and did a ton of these in the past. I don't want to talk numbers but it's enough to make me more than comfortable. So the date is set for October 12th. I can't believe how much I have to read and take care of before the big date. It alls seems unreal. Guess I need time for things to settle in but in the meantime, I'm glad I'll be busy!!

Hey Birdland!!!!!

You are reacting just like us!!! We knew what we wanted too... and everything worked out exactly as we had planned.... early surgery date helped us too!!

Take care and know you are in our thoughts and prayers.... as you travel the road ahead. The time will fly and then you will be on to the next path of recovery.

Your nice positive attitude..... will definitely be a plus!!

Hello Birdland

Good for you, and now is not to early to start your exercises (including Kegels). It doesn't have to be anything like a football mini camp, but if you get there Oct. 12th in fighting trim your recovery will be a whole lot easier. So good luck to you, and please keep us posted.

Birdland,

Good to stay busy so not to worry too much before hand.  Glen gave good advice to me on this.  I really do think the kegels helped me recover quickly with controlling bladder post surgery.  Good luck with the exercise and keep us posted.

Birdland,

best wishes to you and yes, keep exercising to the last minute, especially those Kegels. you'll have hundreds of thoughts flying around your head but know that others have been there before you and are here for you, too. kat
