hi john

thanks for your help . i looked up the partin tables . should i have asked the doctor what grade the cancer was eg t1c . if so how would i word it . does this information have an impact with all the other stuff . pardon my ignorance eyes

Petal,

Yes, stage is important (it indicates if any tumor can be felt etc)  and that information is usually included.

Just a matter of asking what the stage is.

Although bone problems are  unusual with PSA under 20: some doctors still order a bone scan if they're considering  options, just to be sure. eg: they might not want to undertake surgery to remove a prostate if the  PC has already escaped to bones.

Gleason score of 3 + 4 is intermediate , but there is a high volume, so your doctor could suggest agressive treatment.
