I'm heading down to Birmingham in hopes of removing the catheter today. If for some reason they decide not to, you will hear me scream. Mr. Foley and I never really hit it off as well as some of you. Will log back when we get back to town.
Diagnosed 8/24/06 at age 48

Remember, Mr. Foley WAS a handy thing to take to a picnic!!!! Now when Bob is up 3 and 4 times a night he sometimes remembers Mr. Foley more fondly than when he really had him. This too will pass!

All kidding aside, gl dawgfan!!
Husband (Bob) had laproscopic prostate surgery on Sept 27, 2006 - 2/12 malignant biopsy samples - gleason 3 + 3 = 6.  Follow up PSA results and pathology results due Nov 14, 2006.

Also taking Hydroxyurea to control Polycythemia (elevated red & white cells & platlets) has secondary condition . . Myelofibrosis)

Hey, Dawg. Hope it's a goner! Husb. and I do NOT remember fondly the slight aroma or urine in an enclosed space (like the car). Nor he the ache when it backed up. Or the panic when it stopped up at the top of the bag like a vacuum seal. Or the fascination of watching tiny bubbles go backward when a steady stream was dripping successfully downward. Or the yanking and tugging when the straps broke. I could go on, yes?

So... friend and foe it was. Now, just get that "thang" out of there.
Husband age 65
PSA on 5/1: 4.2 (doubled in 13 mos.; up to 4.3 on 6/1)
DaVinci Surgery 8/2/06
T2a (at biopsy)
T4c (at pathology) w/cancer cell leakage into fatty tissue
Post-Surgical PSA on 10/3/06 - undetectable!
Future: PSA tests twice-yearly

Dawgfan-
Best of luck to you today.....let me know of your experience. You are about 5-6 days ahead of me, so you are a good resource.

Dawgfan, Be prepared for a little leaky dribble time. Don't get discourage like I did the first day went through five pads. Just keep walking and kegeling. Today just four days later I am almost back to normal. I'm going out to the guitar store in a few minutes and I really feel great. Things are looking up and one thing feels almost like getting up pretty soon.

GONE! That thing is finally out of here! What a relief. If you couldn't tell, Mr. Foley never endeared himself to me and at times we nearly came to blows. The removal was a piece of cake and I am among the dribblers now. On pad number 4 or so, but this too shall pass. How is everyone else doing?
