Hi, I'm David and just had the robotic procedure done in August, with a T2C and no evident external penetration  of cancer. I'm 43 and used Scott Tully in Bham, AL ( who I can say has been excellent). I was wondering what to expect from my first psa, what is good or bad? All this waiting is hard to endure , can anyone share their experiences?

Thanks, David

EXPECT a <.01 or at least something like that. Anything called undectable is a reason to celebrate. Good luck David

Hi pillctr,

The first one is the tough one, fortunately for me my urologist gets the results within 45 minutes of the blood test. Even then that was possibly the longest 45 minute wait I've ever endured. Naturally I worried for no reason. this Nov. 21st will be my 3rd PSA, and I'll worry again, but maybe not as much. So try not to freak yourself out.

Good luck to you,

Glen

David:

Sounds like we had our surgeries about the same time.  I received my first PSA score at the three-month post surgery date, yesterday!  If your post surgery pathology report was negative, you should expect a <0.1 PSA, the lowest score you can get.  I kept busy and didn't think about it too much until the second day after the test, the day I knew I would receive the results (which were <0.1).  I'm sure you will be joining me as a new member of this Club shortly!
