Anyone,   Got a rash around all around my privates. Is it diaper rash? I mean I wear pads maybe I should change them more often? At night I stay pretty dry. During the day I leak.I started using powder could I be allergic to that? Any Ideas?  Its been 2 months since surgery.               Shepla

I forgot to mention that the only thing I am doing different is that I am walking almost everyday for 45minutes. Could that be irratating that area?  Shepla

Shep,

Sounds like you answered your own questions Shep. Simple soaps such as Dial or Safegurad are more gentle on the skin. Heavily perfumed saops can be agitating. Air dry...whooo hooo...Shep in da buff! A little fresh air does wonders for moisture provoked rashes. The cool setting on the hair dryer is useful after a shower too.

I'm guessing you are holding moisture/perspiration as a result of the padding itself holding in body heat, thus moisture against the skin. At least once a day, air the goods out for a short while. Pads, as long as they aren't perfumed should be fine. Pads are meant to wick away moisture but butts don't like perfumes and the twins hate being smothered 24/7. I hear em in muffled tones crying.....freedom be ours!!!!!

Powders IMHO make rashes worse...had a kid in diapers for 11 years so I do have experience in the art of keeping skin happy and healthy. Our best solutions for keeping padded tushies pink and perfect had always been simple soaps, air and nothing perfumed.

Swimom, You are the Greatest !.I will definetly air dry the twins and when I,m in a rush I can Blow dry them. KINKY!! My rash did get worse after the Powder I thought it would have the opposite effect.I hate to sound like a bad parent but I think I have been Smothering the Twins with Pads. Its time to let them go free. Have to check soap back to basics. Leave it to a swiMOM to figure this one out.My youngest is 21 so its been a while! I go see my Surgeon at Sloan for a 2 month check and PSA test this wednesday 13th. I feel confident with fingers crossed. He will ask about erections and continence which with Viagra have been pretty goood! Thanks for Everything!!! SHEPLA

Shepla,

Are you still using the undergards type of pad? If you have not tried going to the poise type of pad you might want to give it a try. I only stayed with the undergards for about a week and I was able to go to the poise. I am now using the light variety of poise pads and you can hardly tell that it is there. I know when I was wearing the undergards the "twins" definitely felt smothered. My urologist had told me that if I did get a rash to use Desitin on it. No doubt it is coming from the moisture.

My husband got a horrible rash. He tried Desitin, gold bond, and a couple of other things. He finally got a prescription for something called Nystatin and Triamcinolone Acetonide cream, and that did the trick. He is also using the Serenity men's pads, which we got at Walmart. They're basically the least cumbersome and thinnest pads we found, shaped like a triangle. Some of the elastic edging on the other pads irritated the inside of his legs.

2busymom.......how is Jeff doing with the leking.  I had my RRP on the same day as him.  Just curious.  I'm still using about 5 Poise pads a day.  Have been walking about 1 hour a day at least.

Thanks for any info.

Hey Shepla the All Day Chemist I got 128 of 100mg for about $160.00 shipped. They had a double your order for the price of one special. It works exactly like the $10.00 a piece viagra samples I got from the doctor. Here is the link http://www.alldaychemist.com/menhealthdrug/Caverta.html  Sure sorry your having the leaking problem and still doing the pads. My pissing is back to 99.99% Hardly any leakage even when I pick up something heavy like a grand kid, no pads. Mr Willy is not saluting the flag but he is getting fuller and stretching out some which gives me hope he is healing up. I ordered a vacurect pump and am gonna give it try. If nothing else I guess it is good for getting blood into where it needs to be for healing. I get the results of my first blood test after surgery today so I'm hoping all is well with that. Hope you have a Merry Christmas. Like you I am thankful for Swimon praise the Lord!!!!!
