I went in the see my Dr. on Friday because I'm over 2 months post cathiter and am still having a large ammount of leakage. Soaking a Depends Heavy Duty (slip in) Guard in about
1 to 1 1/2 hours when on my feet walking or working. Dr. did a ultrasound to see if the bladder was completely emptying and it was. Scheduled me for a scope on Feb 20th. The reason to wait so long is that if there is no scar tissue issues they may use a injection of a drug into the bladder neck / spinkster area to "pulmp" or build it up to help it close up. I looked on the web and found some trials and use of Botox. But I though they were saying it was a colligen type material. To test to see if I am allergic to this material they put a small injection of it under the skin on my forearm. They said it will usually show signs in 48 / 72 hours. But they have had patients react in the third week after the injection. So, they wait 4 weeks to inject it into a patient.
I will call tomorrow to get the exact name of the drug or substance they plan on using and will reply to this post to let you all know.
Have any of you had this problem or a proceedure like this from your Dr.
Thanks, KW
