I've had my catheter in for 8 days now and the dull ache at the end of my penis is quite annoying.

Is this common ?

I get some leakage when I walk , is that common?

Hi MGL

Both sound very common. Bob had pain from his catheter. The pain persisted for awhile after removal as well. He also needed to wear a pad to catch leakage as well.

When do you get "Mr. Hang" removed??

I had both pain like that and leakage... as a matter of fact, I still have some pain at the end of the penis and still have leakage and still lots of leakage (at 9 weeks post op).  But I think the pain is a little better now and I am regaining some control of my urine, but when I walk or stand, it is still hard to control.  So hang in there and be patient.  Patience has been hard for me, but I am sure learning it and... according the Bible, patience comes through "tribulation".  I think most of us on the board know a little about "tribulation" in these matters at least and patience seems to finally come to most of us as a result.

Say goodbye to Mr. Hang and hello to recovery. Aching (or irritation) at the end of the penis was normal for a lot of us guys. It'll go away. Give it time.
