Just a quick update on my MRSA treatment which I aquired during Prostate Radiation.

My GP put me on one of the same sulfa drugs + Clindamycin and Bactroban salve for my nose. The Nose sores seem to be healing and my burning with urination seems to be improving. My GP doesn't think the MRSA is bothering my urinary tract, but I think it is connected as it's been 16 months since my treatments and wasn't improving. The Mayo Clinic mentions MRSA and urinary problems, but what do they know:)

Diagnosed with a Gleason 4X3. 1 out of 7 samples, Left Side. DRE showed Normal. Psa gradually crept to 10. Dropped to 6.4 with Alt. suppliments.
Proton Beam Therapy at Loma Linda 11-06. PSA at 1 yr. 1.7.

Hi, KenW. Sounds like you've had a long battle, as if dealing with cancer isn't enough! Glad to hear about the improvements.
Husband age 66
PSA on 5/1/06: 4.2 (had doubled in 13 mos. and rising monthly)
DaVinci Surgery 8/2/06 - Austin, TX w/Dr. Randy F.A.G.I.N.
T2a (at biopsy)
At pathology - cancer cell leakage into fatty tissue
Post-Surgical PSA on 10/3/06 - undetectable!
Update: 11/1/06 - perhaps bladder neck involvement; 30%-50% chance of recurrence
Future: PSA tests twice-yearly for now - Next one: 4/17/07
