Hey Pete,
The catheter is out. I have some irritation from when they pulled it out, it's starting to subside a little bit now. I'm having some leakage problems right now. Everytime I take a step it wants to squirt. I'm having a hard time being able to control it because of the irritation and I'm having a hard time determining what's going on right now, due to that. I can't tell if I have urinate or if it's just the irritation. It's only been a couple of hours though and I'm sure glad to get rid of the catheter. It feels so much better walking around without that thing jerking. I'll keep you updated.

Curt, glad to hear the old cath is out. The irritation will go away quickly, and the different sensations will start making sense. As 2 of our doctors said, following the surgery, you will have to learn to control it like women do. Kurt picked up on the different feeling very quickly. The day Kurt had his removed, he asked the doc if he could have a glass of wine. The doc said, "you can have 2, but you will wet yourself". Good luck, and just keep reminding yourself that that pesty cancer is gone. Courtney

Thanks for the encouragement! Just had my first regular type pee. The poor thing forgot what to do after two weeks. I think maybe I wasn't drinking enough because I was just dribbling all day so I upped the intake and it increased the output. I sure can't say enough about how much this group has helped with getting through this. We would have been lost and probably scared to death without it. Anybody out there new to the group, keep reading everybody's posts. Believe me it helps!
