Just got a call from my surgeon and he first confirmed that my cancer was found to be confined to the prostate. The lymph node analysis came back negative. There was extracapsular penetration as was indicated on the biopsy, but that's why he did only partial nerve sparing on that side. I asked him though given that indication do I have negative margins and he said yes, you are good.

So it looks like everything is contained and I was asked to return in 3 months. If things are OK at that point, I will go back to my local urologist for periodic checkups. I was a little bit too freaked out to ask about the final Gleason/stage etc., but will get a copy of the report for all the specifics, Its out to dinner to celebrate and I'm not going to hold back on the liquor just to save the bathroom trips. Its been fun sharing with all of you. I will continue to update my continence progress, ED situation has not really been tested as until up until this point I have still been sore from catheter. I have been on the same pad though since early this morning (3PM now). I am beginning to think there might be hope.

Veteran1, even after reading all these entries with details on the path reports, I just totally blew it when he told me I was clean. I need to fax a request into medical records and then they fax the report back out. Will post when I get details. Thanks to everyone for the support.
