Hi I had robotic surgery 6/06 & the cancer was confined to the prostate.
I have been reading about supplements for recurrence such as pomegranate juice, flaxseed & green tea.
Does anyone have some advice on which supplements to take ?

A low intake of red meat and a Mediterranean type diet is worthwhile. Supplements could also include lycopene, selenium, V E, V D if the diet is not high in them. I also include pomegranate juice and green tea, salmon and tuna.

I obtain an immune boosting liquid herbal mixture which includes olive leaf, astragalus, and mushroom extracts.

Congratulations Jeff 11 on your successful surgery June, 6th. My oncologist strongly recommends Vitamin
D which has been proven in clinical trials
to possess immune support capabilities.
I take 500 IU twice daily along with a regular regimen of other vitamins including Omega 3 fish oil 1200 mg twice
daily. I also take calcium 1300mg and regular multi-vitamins.
I know guys who spend 20 minutes taking all their vitamins. Oncologist says they have the most expensive urine in Chicago. Who's right? Don't know for sure.

Take Care

You may want to consult the calcium and Vitamin D.  Vet and I are both on Hormone Therapy.  Because of that we are advised to up the calcium and Vitamin D to protect our bones.  Pomagranate juice has alot of support though.  I just ordered two books on prostate cancer and diets.  My oncologist has indicated a healthy diet but that diet does not have any proven benefit to late stage prostate cancer, which I was diagnosed with.  But I see alot of conflicting information and know that a healthy diet is best regardless of this disease.  I recently did a post on Michael Milken.  He swears by diet and work outs to keep going after 14 years with stage IV cancer.  I can't argue that and just ordered his book.
