This question is to those of you who have been or are using the Osbon erecaid. When I had my followup with my surgeon at 30 days post surgery and met with the ED specialist, they said to wait 2-3 weeks before using the rings with the pump. This would mean not to try intercourse by using a ring until 7 weeks post surgery. I was directed to use the pump twice a day. But to wait to use the rings for intercourese.

Anyone else have this advice from their MD or ED specialist? I asked the specialist why I had to wait to use a ring for intercourse and he just said to wait. Why?

One thing I'll say is that the Osbon sure works! I had my doubts, but what the heck!

I'm impatient (and actually have already broken the advice about waiting to use the ring with no apparent ill effects) so just wanted to see what the experience of others has been.

So, do I gotta keep waiting? Or can I be good to go as soon as I can make it all work?

I too was told to wait two weeks before using the pump for intercourse. My uro said
the penile tissue needs some time to get used to the blood flow again. I am using it but I must tell you its very uncormfortable, I have trimed the pubic hairs, pump slowly but it still hurst a bit and I cant get the darn thing off the floor of the pump, any suggestions?

naimnut: sounds as if you are having sustainable erections without the rings? if so, that's great! why bother using the ring at all then. as to why it should be avoided, i can't answer as far as how soon after surgery, because i didn't try the pump until a few months later. i assume part of the general answer is that the rings could cause trauma to the penis if you aren't careful. after a few months of using the VED and injections, i have developed a case of Peyronie's. a specialist i saw told me to hold off on the VED and injections to heal... a similar concern, i think.

pete42: sounds like you aren't getting a good seal? i had better luck after i went for the **** star look (at least that's what i've heard, never seen one!) and shaved everything clean. some lubricant on the edge of the VED helps establish a seal, as well as keeping it pressed against you. don't pump too hard, though, as that could damage the penis. when i first noticed some curvature in my penis (after the first successful injection), the person i was working with at my urologist's office told me to pump a little bit more per session to try to help with the curvature... now i wonder if that caused the peyronie's. i'd say if you get a usable erection, don't worry about it leaving the floor of the pump.
