This afternoon we started to notice some blood in the urine.  Has anyone had this problem?  Catheter out last Tuesday after being in for three weeks.  Still has no control when he gets up from sitting or laying down.  O.k. as long as he is walking.  Plan to call the doctor tomorrow??
We go for second coumadin check in the morning.  Could this be causing the problem??

Hi Ehud,

My husband had blood in his urine that was noticable while he was using the Catheter. I'm not sure about afterwards. I image that it takes some time for the blood to clear up. Calling the doctor tomorrow sounds like a good idea.

Best of luck to you. May your husband have a quick and speedy recovery. Please keep up posted.

It is not that uncommon.  Hopefully it is just some bleeding from the sutures that reattached the urethra to itself.
TAKE IT EASY!  Just walking for now.  And do keep your physician informed.

Holding you both in warm regards.

Dear Larry & wife of 36 years....

Normally this is a sign that you've over done it a little.. a day of good rest and building back to an exercise routine… taking it slowly and listening to your body (blood in urine).

Then again you guys have not had a normal run with this.... so ~ definitely touch base with your doctor.  Your healing/recovery stepping-stone is a little slippery right now… but I hope you know we are right there with thoughts and prayers helping to shore it up.

Let us know what you find out okay.

Keeping you close as you continue to move forward!!!
