Hello Everyone

Rick woke up a few days ago with an infection on his back tooth. He has always been very maticulas about flossing twice a day and brushing 2 to 3 times a day. He goes in for cleanings every 6 months and is always complemented on his dental hygene. When he had an infection we called and got in the next day. They found that a tooth that had a root canal and a cap was the one causing the problem. They showed us x-rays from 6 months ago verses now and you can clearly see where the bone is wearing down, not only on that tooth but other teeth around it. There is a big gap between his gum and the crown that was not there before. I mentioned to the dentist that Rick had prostate cancer. He sent us on to a specialist and said we should look into this further as it could be related. Have any of you heard of prostate cancer popping up in the Gums?????
Thank you
Diana

No, And I hope not.
From what I understand, PC that's eating away at bone mass would definitely be showing up in PSA tests. But if he is on HT, then I could see bone mass shrinking from that. Also a big change in diet could do that as well. Go see the specialist, but I don't think you will find PCa cell accumulation.
