I have samples of Cialis and will take the first one tomorrow.  I'm thinking positive.

GTM,

Congratulations that you are getting around well enough to try "a lap or two" at the job!

Take it easy!  Exercise and easing into your routine is best, as long as you don't hurt yourself!

If you find yourself - perhaps because you may be on your feet more - if you find yourself leaking such that you feel you are changing your undergarment too often -

  - you might try wearing the men's brief liner inside your Depends Brief and change just the liner out more frequently.
(I did something similar to this - only using the 12 oz. absorbing women's incontinece pad as an inside liner - as I was always on my feet and leaked a lot the first four weeks.

In God's listening Heart,

CCedar!

I had not thought of that, but it sounds like a good idea.  I'll try it.

I can't believe that I've taken this long to update this, but you don't miss this much time from work and get caught up in a few days.  Enough whining.  I'm doing pretty well actually.  The last hole in the belly is healing although it still has a little way to go yet.  I'm still wearing the undergarments although I have made a great improvement in the urinary area and will probably switch to pads when I run out of the "diapers".  My advice in this area, don't worry whether or not you are doing the right exercise or if you should be doing something that will bring about a faster improvement.  You don't need instruction!  You're a big boy and you've been peeing for a long time.  You'll figure this one out and believe it or not your body will fix itself whether you worry about it or not, so don't.  I did lab work a few days ago and the turkey must have eaten the results because I don't have them yet.  Maybe tomorrow and I'm hoping for a .1 or less.  The energy came back fairly quickly and I have just joined a gym again for the first time in ten years and I've worked out twice.  I love it and this time I'M NOT GOING TO QUIT!  On other fronts, both parents are still in nursing homes and I saw them on Thanksgiving for the first time since just before the surgery.  Mother still has braces on both arms and will for at least another month.  Try not to eat turkey and dressing in a nursing home if you can avoid it.  YUCK!  Had to stop at Cracker Barrell to get some decent food.  Merry Christmas and ho, ho, ho.  Why do the kids laugh now when Santa says ho, ho ho?  For some reason, that reminded me, even if it works without the pill, the pill makes it better, even though they will only give me eight pills a month.  update 11/29-psa is .1.  thank you.   You may recall that mom broke both arms just before my surgery.  Dad just fell and broke his hip.  Hope your box of chocolates is better.

And now they tell me that Dad, who will be 82 on 12/19, now has the MRSA staph infection.  2008 has to be better than 2007.

I'm having what may be an unusual problem as I have not seen this mentioned previously.  I am gradually getting more control with urinating and, although I am still wearing the undergarments I usually wear only one or two a day.  Here's the problem-I feel the urge to go every 15-20 minutes and when I do it's only a small amount.  Sometimes I get back to my desk and immediately begin getting the feeling again.  Is my bladder shrinking?  Should I try my best to hold it as long as I can?  During the surgery a hole was accidentally poked in my bladder.  It was repaired and the doctor says that there will be no affect at all on me in the future, but I am wondering because I am going so often, but usually in very small amounts.  Has anyone else noticed this in their recovery period?  I am now approximately two months post surgery.  Thanks.

I have been away due to the above mentioned problems.  My Father passed away on December 15 due to several medical problems.  The staph infection that I mentioned was probably not a factor, although he did  have an infection and I will be reviewing his records to try and determine exactly what did happen.  Between my parent's problems and my own health problems I have missed approximately three months of work this year and I will be very busy trying to get caught up so I will not be posting very often.  I appreciate your keeping me in your thoughts.  GTM

Hi GTM,I am new here, and just getting around to reading your story. Oh my God,how in the world could your internal organs not be where they should be? SO sorry about the bladder puncture and the resulting open prostatectomy. Hope you are doing ok.

I can't believe that it has been this long (a month) but here I am.  PSA-undetectable!  I've gone back to the weight machines after ten years of sitting at a desk and after just a few visits I can't believe the difference.  This time I won't quit (I hope).  Mother went home from the nursing home and would not allow in-home care so she's there by herself and my brother and I visit as often as we can.  I will be going back to the University of Florida to Shands Hospital next month to check in with the neurologist regarding the Parkinsons.  I have a little complication that I would really appreciate your input on.  My white blood cell count is slowly going down.  My gp says that it is not low enough yet to justify a marrow biopsy.  For a more detailed description you can find me in the Lupus forum.  I'm not trying to convince myself that I have Lupus, but after already being diagnosed with two unlikely things I'm not going to wait until some doctor says "Oh, guess what".  Thanks.

Hi gtm. My input is simple. You can always tackle Parkinsons like you takle prostate cancer. Your wonderful will and spirit will prevail. Keep up those work outs. I do them and even just a little makes a difference. Take care friend, and God Bless you! Oh yea, one other thing!  Zeros!

Gtm,

Hope your spleen kicks in and does its job. Perhaps your body is recovering from something. Neutropenia (cool word eh? )may simply mean that your body has been fighting something off (or still has) for a while. Hopefully, this is the case and your next blood work will come up fine. A bone marrow biopsy is not the most comfortable thing to have to deal with, albiet a very short experience. Good luck and stay strong!

I've read so many things on the net that my head is spinning now, this disease has a low wbc count, that one has a high count, the other one can be either way and they all have some of the same symptoms.  Chronic and acute leukemia and the one that sounds the worse is the one that can be cured!  I will see the oncologist on 2/11 and hope that it's a big waste of time.

Hello My Friend,
I am glad to hear your Mom is doing well.  I  know what you mean about the internet and trying to find the information that is most insightful for you.  I hope your WBC count issue is just a fluke.

Really good to see you here.  Strength doesn't always come from the gym or what's under the hood.  The strength of good friends can support me under any weight and I've got the strongest right here.  I'll do my best to hold up my end.  Thank you.
