Hi Group:
I had cryotherapy 6/6/07 and my 1st PSA (9/20/07) after the procedure was .23. My last PSA was 4.1 prior to treatment. 7 of 11 needles indicated cancer--gleason 3+4=7--highest PSA was 5.5.
I continue to take alternative products to hopefully boost my immune system. I weigh about 160 lbs with my 5'8" height. I try to restrict red meat as well as sugar input. I exercise moderately for a 76 year old.
Any questions? I will respond.
Peace and good health to all.

Hi Selmer:
I guess I may have read the same article you read about flaxseed oil as I dropped that from my alternative products that I take. I replaced it with
1000 mg of omega 3 fish oil which I take once daily.
I opted for only partial or focused cryo because of the potential for incontinence as well as impotence. Frankly I was having problems with frequent urination and soft erections prior to the cryo. I have to urinate every 1-2 hours but I am able to sleep thru the night without getting up to urinate. I remain continent. Soft erections are still a problem but I am still able to ********* and ejaculate. I am mulling a penis pump.
Peace and good health!!!!!!!!!

Doston,

Sounds like you are doing very well after your cryo treatment. I'm sure your positive results will continue. I'm the same age as you and I chose Proton Beam as my treatment. I'm 1 yr. and 10 mo. out and My results are similar to yours. Psa dropped 50% the first and second Check and is now hovering. Still have frequent Urinations, But no other problems. Had that problem before treatment due to long term BPH. Erections are firm for awhile and then semi-firm. Heck, I'm 76. I'm not familiar with your treatment so good to hear about other options. Seems like most here just " Want it out".

I too have modifyed my diet and have reduced sugars and fats with lots of fruits, veggie and suppliments. I grind golden Flax seed and put it in a drink daily. Helps the heart also. I had a 4 way bypass previous to my cancer.

 Keep on Keeping on.

Ken

Diagnosed with a Gleason 4X3. Second opinion at Stanford came back as 3X4, 1 out of 7 samples, Left Side. DRE showed Normal. Before Biopsy Psa gradually crept to 10. Dropped to 6.4 with Alt. suppliments.
Proton Beam Therapy at Loma Linda 11-06. 1st PSA 4 Months 3.4, PSA at 8 Mo. 1.7. - 1 Yr. PSA 1.8 ( Different Lab ) 4 th PSA Slightly up at 2.19- Free PSA at .33 probably due to BPH.
