I believe this in relation to surgery salvage treatment.  Having had proton, I will have to agree with Swim.

Completed Proton Therapy @ Loma Linda - Aug 2001 - No side effects.
6yr PSA - 0.19
Our responsibility now is to educate men about Pca, PSA and the importance of early detection.

My Wife was thinking in that direction (Proton ) I have opted to talk with both Centers here in CA
the Helical Tomo I'm told is the newest of IMRT therapy and the Person I talked to was unsure if Proton was usefull for post surgery recurring cancer? .
Loma Linda has been I'm told doing the Proton for a long time as i'm sure City of Hope is aware I guess both will say they are the better one right now I'm a little disappointed to say the least!

Yes, proton is being used quite a bit for surgery salvage with very good results.  I have referred one gent to Loma Linda with a rising PSA after surgery.  He is doing quite well.  If you go to www.protonbob.com and click on Patient Testimonials, the 9th, 14th and 43rd are from men who had surgery first.   I think one has an email address where he can be reached.
