Just had my PSA after 7 months from my Hifu, at <0.05 or undetectable. No side effects and only had two minor "accidents"
 
Age 75
January 2007 PSA 14.2
February 07 Gleason 3+4=7
March 2, 07 TUR-P+HIFU Munich Germany by Prof Chaussy and Team
April 30, 07 PSA Undetectable 0.05

This very promising appraoch will eventually be available here in the U.S.

I know that Hifu is not for everybody, but then so is everything else. I do hope that Hifu is accepted in the U.S. as another approach to PC

Thanks for the update - I understand that, if need be, this can be a secondary treatment for those who had Brachytherapy.  Here's hoping we never have to travel down that route but it's good to have the information in your back pocket so to speak.

This sounds very promising. Has anyone on this forum participated in any of the trials in the U.S.?

Husband Age: 58
Stage: T1c
Gleason: 6 (3+3)
PSA: 4.4
Biopsy: 12 samples, Adenocarcinoma involving 3 cores, right side only (95%, 90%, 30%, discontinuously)
Pre-op prostate study - Scheduled for November 13
Brachytherapy - Second week in December 2007
Hoping for a cancer-free Christmas
