Huntsville Hospital just got a da Vinci robotic surgery system. This morning's paper has an article on the event. One year too late for me, but it will be very convenient for many new patients.

dawgfan,

Not only has Huntsville gotten one Decatur, 30 minutes from Huntsville, got one several months ago. There are big billboards in Decatur advertising the Da Vinci at Decatur General.

Hello fellow Alabamians,

It's good (not really if you know what I mean) to see some others from Alabama on here. A great forum, don't ya think?

Dawgfan (UGA?), where did you have your DiVinci? How about you Tamu?

Mine was at St. Vincent's Hospital in B'ham bay Dr. Eddie Bugg. He's a great guy. His team has over 1100 proceedures at last count.

I'd like to know more about ya'll, I get up the the Huntsville area about evry 4 weeks to work with our sales guy their. Maybe some coffee or lunch, we could compare notes.

Love ya brothers and a BIG War Eagle to all.

Walt

War-eagle,

Yes, UGA. I had mine at St. Vincents also. Dr. Scott Tully (of the Urology Centers of Alabama like Bugg) did the honors. I still go down to B'ham for follow ups 'cause we like Tully and my wife likes a restaurant near the Homewood office. :)

PS - The video on their website shows that Tully and Bugg have completed about 1,935 da Vinci procedures.

War-Eagle,

Mine was done at Vanderbilt in Nashville. Dr. Joseph Smith was my surgeon. When I had mine done a year ago today he had done about 1,100. I am open to coffee, lunch sometime if it works out. I am retired so I am fairly flexible.
