I had my prostate removed on June 27th and am still very incontinent. Last week my doctor said I should wait 6 more months and then decide if I should get a sling (if I am still incontinent, but not too bad) or to get an artificial sphincter (if I'm still bad).  In the meantime however, he recommended a urodynamics test, in which you drink until your bladder is completely full, and then the doctor looks at the condition of your bladder to see how the plumbing is looking and reacting to fluids. Has anyone had this done, and did you find it helpful in figuring things out? I am getting it done this Tuesday.

Bob....I think you are expecting results much too fast with the continence. I would be willing to bet that within the next couple of months you will see rapid improvement. I think that I read the average time to continence is 4 to 6 months. I had my surgery in April and I am just now getting there. I'm sure there are many variables and some on this forum are still not there and its been over a year......some have no issues at all (lucky ones). Don't let your dauber down and keep a positive outlook....good luck. JWB

JWB-  Thank you so much! Some days are better than others.  I guess right now I'm just wanting to know how things are progressing. I'm continuing to do my excercizes on faith.  Thank you again!

Take it from one of the long time leakers here. Take you time and let your body try to heal. If you have not tried bio-feedback with a physical therapist I would do it first. Dealing with the leaking is not fun. But I don't want to rush into another surgery if I do not have too.

Good Luck, KW
