I was almost continent when I had to have a Cystoscope for a pre-existing bladder cancer. One is required for me once a year to check inside my bladder for any cancerous polyps. That was almost three weeks ago and my incontinence has now picked up again, maybe a couple of pads a day at most but kind of disheartening as I was almost there. It now seems that I have to strain to urinate and my flow isn't near as strong as before. It also seems that some urine is retained in the urethra and then drips out when I am moving around. Is this typical after a cystoscope where maybe the urethra hasn't healed from the trauma of having a large instrument inserted? I'm hoping that this is only temporary but I don't have another appointment with my Urologist until late December. I would appreciate any comments from forum members that maybe has experience this. Thanks. JWB

My experience has been that my incontenance was slightly better after a scope.  Then it slipped back to where is was before.

Might want to call your Dr.

Thanks KW, I believe I will do that as I feel that something isn't right. I think of you often and hope that soon you will see some light at the end of the tunnel. Good luck in your continued journey and keep the faith. JWB
