My husband went to see his radiation oncologist yesterday
and he did his first DRE seven months after the completion
of his IMRT treatments and his seed implant. He told my husband that that the prostate had shrunk and that he felt some lumpiness on the right hand side, but told him that was normal
and was caused by the cancer cells dying off, etc. I have
never heard of this and wondered if anyone else has?
He won't have a psa until he sees his urologist in January
biopsy 12-07-2006, psa 6.6 at biopsy, but had been as high as
7.3. Eight out of twelve cores positive for adenocarcinoma
seven had a gleason score of 3+3=6 and one had a gleason score of 3+4=7, so his Gleason score was a 7. Stage t1c treatment was 25 IMRT and a 90 seed pallidium implant last April 25th.
Last psa in July was 1.67.
Blessings to all,
