RTR: It sounds like you are doing well and have recieved much good advice nothing much new I can add. Just make sure to work up slowly as you begin to feel better and not over do it. I felt too good about 3 days after surgery and over did it which in turn set me back 2 or 3 days. Good luck and you're well on your way to recovery.

Disposable flushable soft wipes are a great idea, as for stool softeners there is Ducalax for about $9.50 or you can get a generic for $4.75 at most pharmacies. I think the generic has more also. Something not mentioned here is a sponge rubber donut. I tried an inflatable one but took it back as it was not comfortable at any stage of inflation. I then bought a sponge rubber one that had a removable, washable fabric cover and it worked well as I took a 3000 mile bus trip the third week post surgery. Get the 18" wide size if you are over 160 pounds. I think most questions about the cath have been addressed so I'm out of here. Uncle Dan

RTR,

Uncle Dan has remembered something very important, the donut pillow helps.
If you get an inflatable one, don't inflate it all the way.

The crotch area will be sensitive for a few weeks most likely.
The pillow helps for sitting and reclining.

Many here did expereince swelling in the scrotum.
Some just a little.  Some quite a bit.  It is normal.
If you experience it, it will go away in a few weeks.

You will feel better soon!
