Forgive me all for what I am about to say,

I am now 21 days past surgery and only four days past catheter removal. I know 17 days with the catheter what is up with that? The Doctor said I needed it that long to be sure I have healed enough. Anyway the exciting part. I can't believe I am saying this on line and not feeling like some sort of pervert but...... This morning after my wife left for work and I was getting ready for work I did my usual scrotum and penis preparation to be ready for the leaking and dripping of the day. One thing different though was the preparation felt pretty good and before I could realize the little booger started to increase in size. Don't get me wrong or anything it was only about 1/2 of what it use to be but hey.... I will take anything at this point. I was so excited that I came to work and e-mailed my wife at her work. (Seemed like another perverted thing to do.) She said we would try it again later with her help. Whoop EEEEEEEEE. Finally some sense of normalcy in all of this.

Still leaking but hardly any when sitting or lying but qute a bit when I get up, walk, cough, sneeze, yawn or bend over. Probably using about 5 to 8 pads a day.

I have been doing the Keagles when I think of it and I think I am going to try the styrofoam cup feedback thing this weekend.

I am trying to change alot and wash alot and use everything from Cortizone 10 to Baby diaper A&D to Desitin and Neosporin. Even with all of this I still itch and burn in the scrotum area. If anyone has invented a way to keep that from happening you can be a millionaire.

Any suggestions on creams or something I have not mentioned for itching and burning or a barrier from wetness I would appreciate the advice.

Thanks to all of your for your information I try to read some it everyday

Forgive???? Heck, we want the sequil!! Have a great weekend.

Wish I could suggest something other than perhaps utter cream or Desitin for the rash but that's about all I can think of. I'm a big fan of calendula cream (not gel) but ya gotta hit the health food store and ask the professional which is for rashes down under. Not all are created equal.

Hi Educator: It sounds like you are doing very well for a guy who is 21 days out of surgery.  Go with the flow (pun intended) and keep doing what you are doing and things will be fine.  It's just a matter of time.
In my case, I wore the pads for six or seven weeks until I was comfortable (or confident) about leaving home without one.
As far as the itching etc., my suggestion is to shower as usual, towel off, forget the salves etc. and let "the area" air dry, meaning relax and don't get dressed and run-out-the-door too quickly after showering.
That's my two cents.
Best to ya,
You'll be fine.

Post surgery pathology – Organ confined, Gleason still 6, margins clear.  Volume of tumor much less than biopsy suggested.  12 percent overall.

Educator,
Sounds like you are on the mend.  The inate feeling and semi erection that you had is a great feeling and nothing to be ashamed of...it's natural.  Some gentle stimulation at your stage is good and required to begin penile blood flow to wake up the nerves.  I remember I was like a little kid with those feelings and the thought of what could develop.  Keep up (pun) the success and healing.  All will be well.

PS.  The wife does play an important part in all of this healing.  Ask her to be patient and understanding in your trial and enjoy your intimacy during the process.

Educator, from another educator tongue , BUTT PASTE!!!!, really thats the name of it, and you can get it a Target.  It works great, and my husband got relief overnight.  My husband had his robotic surgery on 10/ll/07.  We go for first psa result on Monday.  Holding my breath, and reading these posts everyday.  Mike's post pathology test were all clear, except the tumor was extremely close to the margin.  Does anyone have any information on this.  Should we have follow up radiation, even if the psa is low.  So much to comtemplate.  Thanks to all of you faithful ones for so much information, iit is priceless.   pam

Educator,

I agree wholeheartedly with Piano Man on this one.
Whenever alone, I would sit/walk around nude and just catch drips with a rag.
It is a great way to both stay dry and work on control.

This surgery takes a lot of time to heal.
Try to take it easy, especially when you start to feel better!

Thanks To All For The Responses,

I don't really have a rash that you can see but I itch like the dickens or (where the dickends) lol... in the scrotum area. I am sleeping at night with a fan running and my privates exposed. It seems to help some.

I am taking Levitra, broken up pieces everyday for a week, and then I am to try a whole one. I don't really feel anything happening with the pieces of Livitra only, but when rubbed it does begin to get a little bigger. My wife has been doing the rubbing lately and I do have a climax; however, it seems to be a shorter one than it used to be. The firmness is still not enough to be able to use for penetration. Maybe a whole pill will do it. If it does not do it should I immediatly start some other rehabilitation such as the pump?

I don't see my doctor again until January and I really don't feel as though I was given enough information on this penil rehabilitation thing.

Still leaking while standing or walking. I am trying to do the mantra bio-feedback exercise, but when I tell it not to leak and try to hold it, I still leak. I guess I must be doing something wrong. I will keep trying.

I just can't wait until the day when I can go pad free.

Thanks to all for the information.

Educators,

You might want to consider a pump as a rehab tool to help keep the length and girth you have. The cost is worth it. Used one everday or at least often, for months. One time in the last 2.5 years I had go back to it for a couple of weeks (at the wifes suggestion). Had a short relapse (no pun intended) a year+ postop. The pump made a difference. Good Luck.

For rash, especially on the scrotum, get a cream called Carlesta --- its made from tea tree oil----I was going "nuts" (sorry!) when I was leaking until I got this stuff--- worked great!  GOOD LUCK!
