New and have some questions...

OMG I'm so confused...I have been recently diagnosed and started my gluten free diet...I have followed the diet to the T but I keep getting these headaches about an hr after I eat..about 1 hr after it starts they stop...The only thing I can think of is reactive hypoglycemia..I did suffer from hypoglycemia as a child and into my teens but havent had a prob in yrs...Anyone else have this problem..I really need advice because I feel like crud.

If it is hypoglycemia, then you may need to increase the fiber you eat with meals to help slow down sugar metabolism. Flaxseed meal, fruits and vegetables, rice bran, etc. can be added to many things to increase fiber content.

Another suggestion is to eat a protein snack (such as nuts/seeds, bean dip or hummus w/ rice crackers, peanut butter on cucumber slices, etc.) every 2 hours between meals. The protein helps stabilize blood sugar between meals so it doesn't crash.

Hi JessyRee,

Just saw your post and wanted to mention that I was at Walmart today, one of the super Walmart's
and was amazed at all the products that now have which are now gluten free. They even have
gluten free cake mixes

I do hope you find out what is causing your headaches and they stop.
