Another research article has been released discussing the connection between Celiac Disease and IBS. This article, "The prevalence of celiac disease in patients fulfilling Rome III criteria for irritable bowel syndrome." as posted in European Journal of Internal Medicine discusses the prevalence of Celiac Disease among patients previously diagnosed as suffering from IBS. Due to similar classifying symptoms, patients can often be mistakenly diagnosed with IBS, when Celiac Disease is the actual underlying cause of their symptoms. The work of Dr. Stephen Wangen delves into this topic with much more detail, discussing this confusion that often occurs in the diagnosis period. The Innate Health Foundation has also put together a collection of research that complements that before-mentioned article.
