I get these weird symptoms after lunch. I get really bad eye pressure and that makes me sensitive to light and it feels like a dull constant headache that lasts til dinner. My vision gets blurry as well.. I also get dry mouth, dry eyes, brian fog, dizziness, difficulty concentrating ( it takes all my effort just to remember what i am talking about and what i want to say when speaking). I also get slurred speech, unstable gait and loss of coordination. It is like i am drunk. All i want to do and sometimes have to do is dig my head into my pillow and rest my eyes. I am not tired where i sleep, i just need to be laying down with my eyes closed. No dr has been able to help. I have seen my general physiscian, endocrinologist, GI dr, ob/gyn, neurologist. All blood tests (thyroid, celiac, etc) and mri's come back normal. I had an endoscopy done which showed gastritis, hiatal hernia, esophagitis, and GERD, and a slight flattening of villi in one part of small intestine from biopsy but dr said it was nothing. Does this sound like gluten sensitivity or celiac? I don't get stomach or intestine issues. I do have itchiness on my fingers though. I eat shredded wheat for breakfast with blueberries and soymilk, whole grai. Bagel with Boar's Head turkey meat with mayo, and greek yogurt and a banana. Dinner is usually spinach salad, chicken and dinner roll. Ice cream, pudding, apple crisp, cookies, brownie, or zucchini bread for dessert.

I am by no means an expert - just learning as you - but it sounds to me like adrenal issues. But your menu sounds delicious -- not too healthy, either. ;(

Slight flattening of villi? Hello, doctors? this person needs to be on a GLUTEN FREE diet stat. Flattening is inflammation. Damage. You are probably not absorbing any nutrients.
Many sufferers do not know if there is damage. They do NOT become ill to their stomachs, yet their intestines are a mess. Humans CANNOT digest the gluten proteins. Some are worse. This escapes into your bloodstream to wreak havoc in your intestines. My daughter only knows she has been glutened by the way she feels tired, confused and just off. Sometimes no tummy issues at all. She must be careful even touching gluten.

I would ask for all those "normal" reports and head to another doctor. Find a doctor in your area that knows gluten issues, adrenal problems and quite possibly, a thyroid imbalance.

I have a HUGE nodule on my goitery thyroid. Issues for YEARS. But since my blood is in range way way way at the bottom - I am normal. My skin is flaking off, I leave piles of it everywhere. I may have a total of 20 hairs on my head, penciled in eyebrows, etc. But to the professionals I am in range. Yeah. Thanks for nothing DOC! They say surgery - I say IODINE. oh and infra red saunas for my weakened adrenals.

Try it your self for a while. Buy only gluten free breads, crackers, etc. DO NOT EAT regular PIZZA. They have crusts that are gluten free. Go to gluten free sights and find out which prepared foods have gluten. DO NOT EAT FAST FOODS. Only fresh salads. Veggies. Fruits. There are many additives that have gluten. Barley is a nono. Wheat. Even some OATS are not gluten free because of where they process them. Read the labels. Many beverages have gluten. Medicines. Shampoo. Etc.

Damage to your intestines is bad stuff. Read about it for yourself. Take your health into your own hands. Doctors rely on tests only. This way they are safe from most law suits. But when does the caring start? usually never. Sorry. I know this part as much.

The thing that is similar to my daughter is the sleepy/tired/fatigue. You may just be sensitive to celiac. And more times than not there are other foods too - she is allergic to casein/cows milk, soy, corn, wheat, gluten and eggs!

There are things you can do for your health. Check out gluten free first. Good luck to you. :)
