I notice when I eat Ezekiel sprouted wheat bread or Go Lean cereal which has 10 grams insoluble fiber per serving I get oily stools. Is this a symptom of Celiac disease or gluten sensitivity? When I had an upper endoscopy which showed gasritis and esophagitis they said there was some flattening of the villi in the small intestine but nothing to worry about. Also, my blood tests can back negative for Celiac. I still wonder if I am sensitive or have this.

I'd urge you to get a copy of your Celiac blood test results, and also the biopsy report from your endoscopy. Many doctors blow off abnormalities as insignificant (often because they don't know better), when in reality, the abnormalities may indeed be informative of what's going on.

Yes, oily stools can sometimes be due to gluten sensitivity or Celiac. I have non-Celiac gluten sensitivity and fat malabsorption (which is what causes the oily stools) was seen on my stool tests.

One test you could do that may shed some light on your situation is the stool test from Enterolab.com. I have no financial connection with this website or doctor or lab.

Another website to check out is http://www.theglutenfile.com/

I hope this helps - take care,
