All of a sudden in 1-month I gained 45-pounds just in my belly, then an additional 10-15 more pounds. I look 9-months pregnant. Living on Laxatives daily as the colon muscles just quite working (before laxative use). I take *Abilify *neurontin, and others. But I was wondering if either one of those can make you gain weight like that. I have really bad colonic motility.

Help...anyone that has advice.
Thanx so much

My experience (not the exact same disorder as you have) ALL medications change my metabolism and I've gain ridiculous amounts of weight for me on antidepressants (just about every one there is at one time or another), Gabapentin (got off it after 2 wks when I was craving sugar so bad...I knew the signs by now of a med. that is going to make me gain)... Also Lyrica,... I could name so many. Almost all of them. I have fibromyalgia, and nothing is really helping. I am trying to lose weight, but it is near impossible. (can't be active, have to lay flat a lot). I am 5'10 and weigh 168, which is not a terrible weight, but I'm thin boned and a normal weight for me is about 140. I've gained 20lbs more on meds before; within a couple of mos. Medications hurt ME more than help (so far; after 8+ years of trying to find the answrs) Hope you have better luck, dear.
Blessings.

Serenitee, are you posting here because you are celiac?  If so, are you gluten free?  Do you eat processed gluten free foods?  I have many suggestions for you if you are having issues with gluten.
