Because this forum is so quiet let's introduce ourselves
I'll go first
I'm 21 years old. When I was 16 my uncle was diagnosed, a few months later my mum was diagnosed. I had the blood test and my gene test was positive and antibodies were a little high. I was moving cities at the time and didn't have a doctor where I was going and was told the biopsy would take 6 months for an appointment. I had severe b12 and foliate defiencies.
So 4, nearly 5 years ago I went gluten free and my deficiencies went away! I felt a lot better although had a number of 'it won't matter if I have a bit of this or that because I'm usually really good". I felt terrible and decided I had to take this seriously.
It took me about
12 months from then to actually feel the difference.
So I want to hear your stories. How old were you when you/family members were diagnosed? Has it been hard or easy? Did you feel better or worse on a gf diet? Is it easy or hard to get good GF food where you live? And do you have any other medical conditions (especially autoimmune)?
