2 years ago i was rushed into hospital suffering from cecal volvulus. After 9 years of IBS symptoms - swelling, excruciating pain, vomiting, suspected appendicitus etc. I had an emergency illectomy- been left with a massive scar. Now two years later i have been diagnosed with Celiac disease.
Can anyone tell me if there is a link between the two.
Can Celiac symptoms be so severe that they can cause volvulus in the cecum?? confused

Probably not directly related, but having a Celiac sprue could cause malabsorption of nutrients which in turn could compromise your immune system resulting in too much work on your appendix. It's important to know that causation doesn't usually equal correlation. Best of luck.
