This is my first foray into the Coeliac forum although I have been a long time member of the Prostate cancer section. To answer your question Rozia I have. I had no really disturbing intestinal problems ---- perhaps a little mild looseness and gas now and again. My doc had had an endoscopy done during a routine colonoscopy and the results were totally normal. I am currently 64 and developed a rash when I was about 59 which came on fairly suddenly. The rash was diagnosed as psoriasis and treated as such for a number of years. One day I came across mention of dermatitis herpetiformis while looking at something on coeliac disease ---- I recognized the photos instantly. Symmetrical, intense itching, craters when the blisters were burst. Back to the skin guy with the pics and I explained to him that that was exactly what my skin looked like when in full flight. He ran the blood test. The results were :

Gliadin IgA Abs ------- >100 U/mL
tTG IgA/IgC -------------300 U/mL
Endomysial IgA Abs --- detected

His diagnosis after treating me for years for psoriasis ------ you have coeliac disease ------wasn't he clever?

Elimination of gluten eventually eliminated the rash completely ------ it takes a while though.
I have worked out through sad trial and error that when I get hit with gluten it will take about three weeks before I start to feel the burning/itching begin below the skin surface ( I still get no real intestinal problems). It usually begins on both cheeks of my backside, both sides of my lower abdomen, both knees, elbows and inner wrists. I very seldom have anything on my face or scalp. Over the following seven weeks it drives me crackers, runs its course and then begins to abate. Incidentally my sister was diagnosed about three years after me with coeliac disease. Hers was solely intestinal though and both of us had very late onset of the disease ---- around the 60 mark.
Regards,
Bill

I know I have gotten rashes and cold sores when I eat something that has wheat..and rashes are the worst if your lotion or soap is contaminated...check everything! I can tell you from experience that Aveeno or oatmeal soaps/lotions are the worst!!!!! I want to rip my skin off if I get a hold of anything like that.
All I can say is read EVERYTHING carefully! The other thing you may need to do is call your water department and see if they are treating your water supply with something different. That may cause some issues as well.
Good luck!
