I have been having multiple symptoms for months ranging from constipation, heartburn, fullness and or bloating, cramping sore throat. I have had multiple blood test ran and a CT scan, all negative. I had a EGD done just a few days and waiting on results. Can anyone explain this report for me a little better. I know my stomach is inflamed other than that I'm not 100% sure of what is going on.

Diffuse atrophic and erythematous mucosa was found in the gastric antrum and distal gastric body.
Biopsies were taken with a col forceps for Helicobacter pylori testing.
Estimated blood loss was minimal.

Thank you!

This indicates that your doctor is considering H.pylori, the bacteria found to cause gastric ulcers, as a cause for your problem. The finidings also show that there is some evidence of inflammation in your stomach, which is not that unusual. You will probably be talking about acid reflux, too. Nothing there indicates celiac.

Just so your prepared, almost 80% of these tests come back negative and that false diagnosis is wrong about 70% of the time. The only way to really check it out is go on the diet 100% and stay on it for at least 3 months(it isn't like it will hurt you)and then you can judge for yourself. Best wishes and welcome to HW.

Thanks for the tip! I'm still getting nothing but pressure and fullness but everything came back negative. They (meaning I) think its Gastritis due to the inflammation in my stomach. They put me on a PPI but it will take some time before it shows any type of improvement.

You might want to consider/ask your doc about a ppi/h2 blocker combo to totally block the acid while you heal...

From what I hear and have read there can be up to 300 symptoms of Celiac. Or you can have Celiac and have no symptoms. My symptoms were "D" ,pain , rash, headaches, hair falling out, lack of energy, dents in finger nails and toe nails , did I say lack of energy? .... So far everything has subsided except the dents in my nails and my energy level.
