Hello All,

I am new to this forum. I was diagnosed with IBS back in 2009 and have found that eliminating gluten and dairy from my diet (although my celiac test was negative) has helped immensely. A friend of mine who has cancer has introduced to me these smoothies she makes that are gluten free and dairy free. She cannot eat much because she has colon, pancreatic, and liver cancer. The smoothies were fabulous using a vanilla protein powder, ice, fruit juices and fresh fruits.

However, the protein powder she was using was called Arbonne and is quite expensive!! I was curious if anyone in this forum uses a protein powder for shakes/smoothies and is happy with it. One that is not as expensive. Please feel free to share any ideas, recipes, or suggestions that could help me out. Thank You!

Why do you need to buy expensive protein powders to make a smoothie? Can you not get a good smoothie out of some almond milk and fruit?
