Hey guys

I'm usually in the crohns and UC forum (I have crohns/colitis) but just recently my wife has been diagnosed with Celiac.

I'm trying to help her the best I can but I have to be quite honest it doesn't seem she wants to help herself. I know that may sound harsh but for someone with a similar condition, I've had this for about a decade so I know when I'm feeling good I wanna stay feeling that way so I don't go and take a nibble of something I shouldn't, but she does. She eats crackers (which I can stand!) She eats protein bars which are packed with gluten but recently I've put a stop to this, and have thrown all of those things out.

How common are headaches and migraines when it comes to celiac? Because right now its 12am and my wife is on the floor crying cause of a thumping headache and it's not the first time.

Please helpsad

Yes! Celiac Disease can be the cause of migraines. Google it.

I am sorry that your wife is suffering. As a celiac, she really needs to go gluten free. Does she know she can go on to get additional autoimmune disorders? So adhering to the diet is critical. You both should go gluten free. Have you seen the IBD study relaeased this year out of Scripps in San Diego? They achieved over 70% remission. How great is that. Of course they had participants follow an AIP diet, which 8ncludes gluten free.

Maybe join a local celiac group or a forum. She is not alone!

I have been gluten free for five years (DX celiac disease). It can be done and you can travel!

Gluten free in today's world really isn't difficult.

Buy only gluten free crackers...or rice cakes...and gluten free protein bars.

There is good tasting pasta that is GF as well.

She can eat all the fruit and veggies she wants...

My son has Celiac...and he's not living at home anymore, but when he was here, I made GF crepes, corn bread, pie...etc.

If you go to a health food store - ie whole can get gluten free pie crusts.

I have celiacs and I suffered from terrible migraines until I was diagnosed. I don’t get them now that I’m gluten free. She will feel so much better once she is totally gluten free.
Diagnosed with MS July 2006, Breast cancer 2017

I have no lesions on my soul and so I live with no limits.
