rolleyes   Lets see.. I was diagnosed with Hashimotos about 5 years ago. Ive been on
numerous medications and have had hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism off and
on. I cant remember the exact medications and dosages. Anyways for the past
few months Ive been treated for hyperthyroidism. The doctor put me on Methimazole
10mg for a few months and about two months ago I went back in for blood work and it showed that my levels are starting to get
back down to normal. Again I didn't ask for the exact lab values because I
really don't understand them and I just figured I'll go along with what the
doctors say. He told me to cut my dosage in half and come back in six weeks
for moreblood work. I should be getting results soon.

My current medication is 5mg of Methimazole, 10 mg of Lexapro and Yasmin.

My current symptoms are the following:

> Weight Gain

> Itching spells (legs, arms and head (feels like I have bugs in my head)

Sweetie you are not being a horrible mother. You are just ill and it takes time for anyone to get better especially as close to birth as you are. I have heard it takes at least a year to really recover your body balence after birth, for someone who is healthy. With thyriod problems I would think it naturally it would take even longer. I think sticking with your medication is a good idea. I would also get your vitimen and hormone levels checked out. DO YOU feel like your medication is making you feel better? Not what the labs say how do YOU feel? I would also think about talking about pain management with your doc, because being in pain just makes me want to not move and it zaps all my energy.

Thanks for your reply.  Im waiting on my doc to call me with results. I stopped taking my methimazole and now im able to sleep.. i knowi shouldnt have stopped it but i can sleep now!  I will definitely ask to have more labs done.  Ive read that once you have one autoimmune disease you are more susceptible to others.  I want answers!

take care
