Hi All,
I was dxed with Hashi's some time ago, but doc wanted me to wait until I was having regular issues with it before tx. Since I have un-treated Lyme - that has usually taken the front seat.
Since then though, I have been having those regular issues. My biggest question is; my doc wants to 'dissolve' parts of my thyroid - ????
Does anyone have any info on this? I did a search on it, but (as usual rolleyes) either I didn't understand what I was reading, or I couldn't find what I was looking for.
I've been very hesitant to go back to my doc about my thyroid - not sure I want my thyroid dissolved. I realize I should ask my doc why not just take meds to help - but anyone have any ideas why?
I am at the point where my thyroid stays swollen & interferes with swallowing all too much - hard to take pills a lot of the time now.
I realize this is a scatter-brain post - can't get past that right now - sorry!
Thank you in advance for any info you may chose to share!

Well, I've been reading again ~
Anyone with opinions on soy & thyroid? I've read a little from both sides & the only thing I know now is that I'm really confused (pretty much a constant anyway!)
I do only use it in moderation, as I started using it while on abx, & I'm lactose intolerant as well.

Instead of drinking soy, try lactose free milk.

I'd say go ahead and get your thyroid "melted". If it's causing swallowing issues it's too big.
