hi im 20 years old been getting not a racing heartbeat but skipping beats fluttering as if my heart jumps out thumps 4 1 sec has this for a while now the doctor says its the caffine and stress but im not stressed and dont have any caffeine now it comes and goes i should be having fun but im scared and i cant live a normal life i stay in and do nothing and i wory about my relationship because of my mood sum 1 plz help xxxx

Ask your doctor to run a full thyroid panel on you. If he refuses find another doctor.

When my doctor refused to listen to me about my moods and legs swelling. I left him to get a second opinion and the new doctor found out I had hypothyroidism with leg edema. Now I take lasix twice a day and potassium for the edema and synthoid for my moods.

Hyperthyroidism can cause heart skipping. Also, Gerd can cause it. So get that checked out, too.

I hate to say this because this has been here for a couple of days. But have you had an EKG done? If not please get one done asap.

I know she scared you, but an EKG is harmless. It checks your heartrate and sees if there's any problems with your heart. If your worried about the test you spend more time getting undressed and putting on the robe for the test than the test takes.

It is wise to get your heart checked also if it's beating too fast.

she just put it in a bad way just going to see what happens coz im sick of going to doctors its a waste of time x

Do you have acid reflux problems?
If so, it is also a sign of your vegus nerve getting irritated. You have a vegus nerve running down the back of your esophagus. If you have acid reflux problems, the nerve gets irritated and can affect your heart rate. It not a dire problem, PPIs can stop it.

I, too, get tired of doctors. I had at one time six different doctors taking care of six different problems I have. I've dropped one and am in the process of being dismissed by another. I still have to keep the lung specialist, eye specialist, allergy specialist, and my regular doctor.

Why do you think I chose my saying in my signature? ;)
